I first made this cowl for a friend who wanted a warm cowl to gift to a friendly crossing guard near her house. I hand knit this cowl by using a strand of bulky acrylic yarn with a strand of a soft, worsted weight acrylic yarn. Since both yarns are machine-washable, you can throw it in the washer on a delicate cycle to wash. It's wide (8 inches) and long, so you can wear it over your head as a hood and still have some around your neck for warmth.
